Purchasing/Cancellations/Returns
Purchasing Protocol
All payments are processed immediately upon placement of order.
It is the responsibility of the customer to know and be in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to selling, transferring, possessing, transporting or using a firearm in the locality in which the customer resides.
It is the responsibility of the customer to know and be in compliance with all applicable federal, state, local laws and limitations related to the purchase of magazines and ammunition in the locality in which the customer resides.
Order Cancellation Policy
Orders placed with Defensive Resources Manufacturing may be cancelled by the customer prior to the item having shipped.
All cancellation requests must be made by email at orders@defensiveresourcesmanufacturing.com.
If the item/package has shipped, the order may not be cancelled and the customer must follow all rules applicable to returns.
Please note that the return of the item/package will be made at the customer’s expense.
Cancelled orders may not be reversed.
All cancellations are final.
Return Policies
1. Factory Firearms, Used Firearms, Ammunition and Clothing:
All sales of firearms (excluding DRM Firearms), loaded ammunition and clothing are FINAL, and returns are NOT ACCEPTED.
Once a firearm is transferred to a customer’s name, Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not accept a return or exchange under any circumstance.
If a defect is discovered by the customer after shipment and transfer of ownership, the customer must contact the firearm manufacturer directly for replacement or repair.
2. All Other Purchases:
If the purchased item(s) is defective or damaged upon receipt, or if the customer is not satisfied with a purchased item(s) and wishes to return it for a refund or replacement, the customer may return the item(s) to Defensive Resources Manufacturing within 30 days of the date of receipt of delivery of the purchased item.
If a defect in a SCOPE is discovered by the customer, the customer must contact the manufacturer directly for replacement or repair.
Return shipping is solely the responsibility of the customer.
All returned items must be in the same condition as when they were shipped and must be returned in original packaging.
The customer will be assessed a re-stocking fee up to 25% of the product sales price if the items are not returned in resalable condition, as determined in the discretion of Defensive Resources Manufacturing.
3. DRM Produced Firearms:
Full Lifetime Warranty
Defensive Resources Manufacturing built firearms are backed by our Full Lifetime Warranty. Our firearms are warranted to be free from defects in materials and craftsmanship for the serviceable lifetime of the firearm.
The liability of Defensive Resources Manufacturing under this warranty shall be limited solely to the obligation to repair or replace the firearm/part or defect at its discretion, and to pay transportation and insurance charges for return of the firearm to the owner for a rightful warranty claim. This warranty is transferable for the serviceable lifetime of the firearm. Modification of firearm will void this warranty. This warranty does not cover normal wear or any damage resulting from careless handling, neglect, repairs and adjustments, corrosion, improper, low quality, reloaded, tracer, high pressure, substandard or defective ammunition.
Under no circumstances shall Defensive Resources Manufacturing be responsible for incidental or consequential damages with respect to economic loss or injury to property, whether as a result of express of implied warranty, negligence or otherwise. Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not be responsible for the results of careless handling, unauthorized adjustments, defective, low quality, reloaded, improper ammunition, corrosion, neglect, ordinary wear and tear, or unreasonable use.
Shipping Times
Due to the high seasonal/holiday order volume, shipping times will vary during the holidays.
Non-holiday shipping is typically 5 days for your order to ship.
Shipping Costs
All items on our website currently ship flat rate. The cost of shipping will be displayed when adding items to the cart.
Shipping Restrictions
Defensive Resources Manufacturing is not responsible for a customer’s failure to adhere the shipping policies, FFL policies and or terms and conditions. Any orders received for items with shipping restrictions will be cancelled. The purchase price will be refunded to the customer minus a processing fee up to 25% of the order’s value at the discretion of Defensive Resources Manufacturing.
Shipping Restricted States
At this time Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not ship ANY items to the states of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Alaska or Hawaii.
Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.)
International shipping
Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not ship any items internationally.
Website Terms
We do our best to accurately describe the items we sell, but errors do occur.
Defensive Resources Manufacturing reserves the right to edit, change, or clarify descriptions at any time to correct errors in product listings. In the event of inaccuracies in the description of an item, we reserve the right to remove the conflicting information once notified. We make no warranty on the accuracy of a product listing when a conflict in the product information is present. Photos are provided for general identification purposes only and may show optional or additional pieces for illustration purposes. Please refer to the product description for details.
Defensive Resources Manufacturing is not responsible for website performance in any particular browser or the inability for a user to use the website due to, but not limited to, internet connection issues, outages, coding issues, or compatibility.
In-Store Pickup
Firearm order pickup is available at our shop in Elkhart, Iowa. Contact us at sales@defensiveresourcesmanufacturing.com to set up local pick up or delivery.
General merchandise and non-serialized items ordered online can also be picked up at our shop.
Customers will be contacted by the store once the In-Store Pickup is available.
Any customer who wishes to pick up stripped lower receivers or handguns must be a current resident of Iowa with a valid Iowa driver’s license or state approved ID, with their current address reflected.
Long guns may be picked up by non-residents, provided they do so in person and the transaction is legal in both the transferee and transferer state. The only exception would be permanent party military personnel, who would be required to provide a copy of their PCS orders, ID, and if they live off base, a state issued document (i.e. utility bill, vehicle registration) at time of pick up.
Firearm Shipments
WE SHIP ONLY TO VALID FFL DEALERS.
When ordering compliance items the customer MUST provide DRM with a valid FFL for shipping. The customer shall enter the shipping address for their FFL in the Shipping Address field at the time of order.
The chosen FFL dealer must provide DRM with a digital copy of their FFL via email to ffl@defensiveresourcesmanufacturing.com along with the customer’s order number. If FFL dealers wish to send a hard copy of their FFL by mail they can contact DRM for a physical address at ffl@defensiveresourcesmanufacturing.com
Compliance items WILL NOT ship until a valid FFL has been received by DRM. Orders will be cancelled if an FFL is not received within 30 days and will be subject to a restocking fee equal to 25% of the purchase price.
If a customer wishes to change the FFL they want to use after the order has shipped, they will be additionally charged for the cost of shipping.
Please note: Firearms cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box.
The customer is responsible for knowing his/her state laws regarding firearm transfers.
Contact your local FFL dealer with any questions regarding the sale or transfer of firearms.
Contact your local FFL before ordering a firearm to verify their transfer fee and to ensure they will receive your transfer.
The customer assumes all responsibility and cost for returned firearms due to FFL refusal or failure to receive.
Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.).
Defensive Resources Manufacturing will not ship compliance items to the states of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Alaska, or Hawaii.
Magazines
DRM Does not ship high-capacity magazines (those greater than 10 rounds) with firearms to the states listed below.
DRM may replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines on DRM produced firearms, please contact us for options.
It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding state laws regarding magazine capacities.
Customers ordering magazines that are illegal to own in their state will have their orders cancelled and will be charged a 5% restocking fee.
States with applied magazine restrictions:
California – We will not ship to California
Colorado – No magazines greater than 15 rounds
Connecticut – We will not ship to Connecticut
Hawaii – We will not ship to Hawaii
Illinois – We will not ship to Illinois
Indiana – South Bend – no magazines greater than 15 rounds
Maryland – We will not ship to Maryland
New Jersey – We will not ship to New Jersey
New York – We will not ship to New York
Massachusetts – No magazines greater than 10 rounds
DRM will not ship ANY items to the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.).
Backorders
DRM will accept backorders on our manufactured firearms. If a firearm is backordered, it will be paid for at checkout. Not all parts may be available at the time of production. DRM may substitute parts of equal value to complete the firearm in a timely manner. If DRM is unable to fulfil the backorder within 60 days, the customer will be contacted and will receive a full refund or store credit for the purchase price.
Limitations Of Liability
Firearms and firearm parts are dangerous weapons and are sold by us with the specific understanding that we are not responsible in any manner whatsoever for their safe handling or resale under any laws or regulations. Defensive Resources Manufacturing shall not be responsible in any manner for malfunctioning of the firearm or other product, for physical injury or for property damage. It is the users responsibility to understand their firearm enough to unsure it’s safe operation. The limitations of liability include: Intentional or negligent discharge. Improper or careless handling. Unauthorized modifications. Defective, improper, reloaded, or non-standard ammunition. Corrosion. Neglect or abuse. Or any other influences beyond our direct or immediate control. This limitation applies regardless of whether other liability is asserted on the basis of contract, negligence or strict liability (including failure to warn). Under no circumstances shall Defensive Resources Manufacturing be liable, whether in contract, negligence or strict liability, for incidental or consequential damages, such as loss of property, commercial loss and loss of earnings or profits.
